How Freeze-Drying Works

Freeze-drying is a process where food or other items are frozen and then placed in a vacuum chamber. The vacuum removes the moisture from the frozen product, leaving behind a lightweight, shelf-stable item. This method preserves the flavor, texture, and nutritional content of the original product.

    Freezing

    The item is first frozen to preserve its structure.

    The frozen item is placed in a vacuum chamber.

    Sublimation

    The moisture is removed via sublimation, turning ice directly into vapor.

Pricing

You may not be ready to purchase a machine for home use, so here's a break down of our charges.

Please schedule the number of 24hr blocks you believe you will require. Contact us if you are not sure of the amount of time you will need.

Cleaning Deposit

A $175 refundable cleaning deposit is required for high sugar content items. If the trays and machines are returned in clean condition with no further cleaning needed, the deposit is refunded.
